Kate Middleton Shock: Prince William's Wife 'Almost A Prisoner At Kensington Palace' According to Prince Harry Says, Royal Expert Ingrid Seward Says

Kate Middleton and Prince William are moving to Windsor, and it may be good for the Duchess of Cambridge. Prince Harry reportedly once said her sister-in-law was "almost like a prisoner" in their residence in London — Kensington Palace.

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward shared her thoughts about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's decision to move to Windsor. The editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine believed that the family of five is relocating for more freedom, aside from living closer to Queen Elizabeth.

"I think what William and Catherine will have for their children is the freedom they didn't have at Kensington Palace," she was quoted as saying by the Mirror on True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat. "I remember Harry saying to a friend of mine that Catherine was almost a prisoner at Kensington Palace, and I thought don't be ridiculous, it’s the most gorgeous place to live in London!"

The William & Harry author initially couldn't believe Prince Harry's statement. However, she realized that the Duke of Sussex had a point, saying, "times have changed." For instance, Middleton can't take walks in the park in peace today, unlike her late mother, Princess Diana, before.

"Then I thought, in a way they are prisoners, they have a beautiful house and garden but beyond that garden are hundreds of people every day and massive security," Seward explained.

"The only place to go is a field where the helicopters land, so you are very imprisoned. Everyone knows what you’re doing and where you are."

What Awaits Kate Middleton And Prince William's Family In Windsor

Apparently, the future king and queen consort, and their three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, will get to enjoy more freedom in their new home.

The family will have the privacy to enjoy the outdoors more, unlike in Kensington Palace, where hundreds of people are around every day.

A source told Us Weekly that Princess Charlotte could go horse riding in the open air while Prince George could enjoy football on extensive grounds in their new home. Meanwhile, Prince Louis will be much close to his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth. The kids are reportedly very excited about their move.

"They're starting over there, and George, Charlotte and Louis are really excited about going to a new school and being in the countryside in the fresh air where there’s lots of space for them to play freely," the source added.
