A multi-alarm fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at an abandoned building on Oak Street in Bridgeport.  

A witness describes hearing fireworks prior to the fire beginning.  

Officials say the fire was under control in about 20 minutes, and the flames did not spread to any other buildings. 

There were no injuries caused by the fire, and the stretch of Oak Street is now open again.
