Pedestrian possibly hit by 2 vehicles in deadly Temple Terrace hit-and-run, deputies say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) —The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Temple Terrace Monday morning.

Deputies said that an unknown vehicle was driving north on Morris Bridge Road just after 5 a.m. when it hit a pedestrian near the intersection of Tampa Oaks Boulevard.

Further investigation found that after the initial collision, the pedestrian was possibly hit by a second vehicle, which was said to possibly be silver or gray in color. The second vehicle’s make and model is also unknown.

The pedestrian died at the scene, according to deputies.

The HCSO said deputies were called to the scene after a concerned citizen found the pedestrian’s body in the road. According to Sheriff Chad Chronister, there was surveillance video of the incident.

“While our detectives continue to review surveillance video to seek justice for this victim and their family, I want to remind all drivers, that it is a felony offense to leave the scene of a crash with injuries, whether you are at fault or not,” Chronister said. “Please do the right thing and call law enforcement if you find yourself in a situation like that. It’s legally, and morally, the right thing to do.”
