2 men suffer critical injuries in S. Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Noon Update: The Wichita Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 33-year-old man and a 39-year-old man injured.

Around 3:47 a.m. Monday morning, officers were dispatched to the Quick Trip located in the 2800 block of South Hydraulic for a shooting call. they arrived to find the two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that due to the lack of cooperation from the individuals involved, investigators were not able to determine the circumstances of what led up to the shooting. While officers were responding to the initial location, dispatchers received multiple calls of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 4400 block of South Hydraulic, where a scene was located.

Update 5:50 a.m. Two males in their 30s suffered gunshot wounds and are in critical but stable condition.

Police responded to the call at around 3:45 Monday morning. The original scene of the shooting was at an apartment complex near the 4200 block of S. Hydraulic.

As of around 4 a.m. Monday, there is a heavy police presence at the QuikTrip at Hydraulic and Wassall in south Wichita.

Dispatch would not confirm why police have responded to the scene.
