AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) - Monday will be a very cloudy & cool day for many. Temperatures will stay below normal ranging from the middle 60s in the Northwest Panhandles to the middle 80s in Childress, Texas.
While rain showers cannot be ruled out for the Northwest today, many will just be cloudy and cool.
There will be a final shortwave that passes over the area Monday night that will spark a few scattered light rain showers early Tuesday morning.
Rain totals will be less than impressive totaling less than 0.1" but any moisture will help.
We dry out by noon Tuesday and clouds will clear from the north to south. The 2nd half of the week is expected to remain dry as the ridge of high pressure builds briefly over the High Plains before deteriorating as we enter the 4th of July weekend.
Several small disturbances will pass through the area next weekend which will create daily isolated T-Storm chances with near normal high temperatures in the low 90s.
