CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person was found shot to death near the Plaza Midwood area of east Charlotte Monday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the 1600 block of Merry Oaks Road to assist Medic. When they arrived, police said they found 34-year-old Wayne Lawson Byrd unresponsive from a gunshot wound.
Detectives responded to the scene to investigate
Police have not released any information about a potential suspect or motive.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, CMPD said.
