Ten displaced after early morning apartment fire on S Harrells Ferry Rd.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department and East Side Fire Department were called to an apartment fire early Monday morning.

The call came in around 4 a.m. about a fire at the Park Place Apartments located at 14355 S Harrells Ferry Rd.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and immediately went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

Park Place Apartments Apt 205 sustained $120,000 in damages.

The fire was contained to the top floor apartment and the apartment below sustained smoke and water damage.

Nine adults and one child have been displaced because of this fire.

There were no reported injuries due to this fire.

Investigators determined that a malfunctioning clothes dryer is to blame for this fire.

BRPD, EMS, Entergy, East Side Fire Dept. and The Red Cross assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
