Three area residents injured in separate accidents

Three area residents were injured in separate accidents in Missouri Sunday.

A woman from Fox in Stone County, 40-year-old Pamela Hicks, and a 79-year-old man from Fulton County, Jessie Guffey, were hurt in a crash in Howell County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Hicks was seriously injured and taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains while Guffey sustained minor injuries.

The report indicates the crash happened when Guffey’s vehicle pulled into the path of a vehicle with Hicks as a passenger. The 16-year-old driver, also from Fox, was not injured.

The accident happened at 11:40 Sunday morning at the intersection of State Highways 142 and E in Moody.

The other crash sent a Harrison man, 44-year-old Adam Bell, to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.

Bell was hurt whit his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, a tree and a fence.

That crash happened at 12:50 Sunday afternoon on I-44 east of Marshfield.
