Brownstown, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Brownstown Board of Education met in Regular Session on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Approval was given for the following:
- Payment of building operational costs from both the Education Fund & the Building Operations/Maintenance Fund
- Steve Waltrip as the Designated Person for Asbestos Management
- Retain Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk and Guenther, Ltd for legal counsel
- IASB PRESS Plus Service Agreement
- Library Service Agreement with ILLINET
- Agreement with the Vandalia ED/BD Program
- Contract with CADY Business Technologies for telephone support services
- Accept the milk bid from Prairie Farms
- Accept the bread bid from Kohl Wholesale
- Scholastic Risk; North Wayne; Ramza Insurance; and Diamond Bros as the District property/casualty insurance carriers
- North Wayne Insurance as District workers compensation insurance carrier
- Contract for Jacy Schaub, Bookkeeper/Treasurer for the 2022-2023 school year
- Administrator salaries for the 2022-2023 school year
- Memorandum of Understanding with the Brownstown Education Association
- Resolution to declare surplus property, and disposal of property
- Rod Rogers as a substitute bus driver
- Updated District Threat Assessment Plan
- Updated PERA evaluation plan
- Addition of an Employee Assistance Program through Egyptian Trust
- Replacement of the District’s firewall infrastructure
- Contract with Home Field Energy for the delivery of electricity
- Adopt amended 2021-2022 school calendar
The Board conducted a second reading of Press Policy Updates, as recommended by the Illinois Association of School Boards and approved the updates.
Shawna Bloemer was employed as HS English Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.
Amber Brungard was employed as 1:1 Aide for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Board accepted the following resignations:
- Martin Gibson; HS English Teacher and HS Bass Fishing Coach
- Beth Gibson; HS Special Education Teacher
A Public Hearing was held on the 2021-2022 Amended Budget. The Board adopted the Amended Budget for the 2021-2022 school year.
