MANNA FoodBank kicked off its second Outpace Hunger Campaign Sunday, June 26 at Highland Brewing Company.
The organization says it's serving an average of 100,000 people per month right now through its network of 200-plus partner agencies.
With the rising cost of groceries, the need is even more critical.
For Sunday's event, Highland Brewing brewed a special beer, called Community Harvest, with all proceeds going to MANNA.
People could also drop off canned foods or monetary donations.
"Our neighbors across the 16 counties that we serve are really struggling to make that grocery bill and are having to make choices between food and medicine," said Kelly Schwartz, MANNA FoodBank special events manager. "MANNA is here so people don't have to do that."
To participate in the campaign, you pay $20 to register, then choose an activity -- hiking, biking, running, walking, paddling or anything in between -- to complete as an individual or as a team.
From there, you set a goal and start fundraising.
