SAGINAW, Mich. - A new Mexican restaurant called Cruz Thru Mexican Kitchen has hit the streets of Saginaw.
The location has been open for about a month, but the grand opening took place Sunday.
The restaurant is walk-in or drive-thru only, hence the name Cruz Thru Mexican Kitchen.
The family also owns Cruz Kitchen in Saginaw, which has been open since 1969.
A walk-in and drive-thru option was picked for this location to make it more accessible for the people in the community.
The event featured a raffle, a live DJ with Mayor Brenda Moore, and State Representative Amos O’Neil in attendance.
Michael Cruz, Owner of Cruz Thru Mexican Kitchen spoke with Mid-Michigan NOW about the grand opening.
"Actually, everybody has really been giving us a lot of compliments; they can't believe that we've been coming out to the cars and helping them out. We just want to make sure that we can help everyone all the way around, especially just our city of Saginaw. we want to invest in the City of Saginaw, and that's why we're here and that's why we stayed in the city.
The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
