1. Interstate 30 eastbound ramp to permanently close
The Interstate 30 eastbound on-ramp at Curtis Sykes Drive in North Little Rock will permanently close next week, the Arkansas Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.
The transportation department said this closure is part of the ongoing construction at the I-30 and I-40 interchange.
Currently, the on-ramp at Curtis Sykes Drive does not meet design standards and does not allow for the safe movement of ramp traffic to access I-40 westbound, ARDOT said in a news release.

2. 'Code Orange' air quality advisory issued for Central Arkansas; effective immediately
The Arkansas Department of Health, in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, and Division of Environmental Quality have issued a “Code Orange” air quality advisory for Central Arkansas effective immediately.
Due to the advisory level public agencies, private businesses and the general public should take voluntary actions to reduce ground-level ozone formation.
Officials said active children, adults, and individuals with respiratory conditions should limit prolonged outdoor exertion to minimize health risks associated with ozone exposure. This advisory will expire at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22.

3. Boy dies after being left inside hot car as his mom planned birthday party for his sister
A 5-year-old boy who was left in a hot car for hours in Texas was found dead, according to authorities.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the child might have been in the car for two to three hours as his mother rushed to put together a birthday party for his 8-year-old sister.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the boy was strapped in his child safety seat when the family left the car and the mother assumed he was out of the car along with his sister.

4. 13-year-old driving stolen car while live-streaming causes crash that kills passenger
Four teenage boys driving in a stolen car while live-streaming were involved in a deadly crash in Texas.
The Abilene Police Department in a news release on Wednesday said a 13-year-old boy was behind the wheel. The oldest person in the car was 15 years old.
At 3:09 a.m. EDT, the Bosch system, which is similar to OnStar, in the 2018 Audi S5 coupe reported a crash.

Miss Dogwood Ebony Mitchell was crowned as Miss Arkansas 2022 Saturday night.
Mitchell competed alongside 44 candidates from across the Natural State to represent Arkansas in the Miss America Organization.
She was crowned by Miss Arkansas 2021 Whitney Williams at the Robinson Center in Little Rock.

6. North Little Rock police seek suspect in Ulta Beauty theft
North Little Rock police are searching for a 27-year-old woman wanted for her involvement in the theft of property at a local beauty supply store, the agency announced Tuesday.
Police said Erica Jordan of Little Rock has a warrant out for her arrest in the June 4 robbery at Ulta Beauty in Lakewood Village.
According to police, her last known location was in the John Barrow area of Little Rock.

7. Officials identify victims of the fatal I-30 crash, 4th person dies Wednesday afternoon
The Arkansas Department of Transportation has released the fatal crash report of a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 30 that identified three people who died in the crash.
According to the report, a total of 12 people were injured in the car-crash pileup that involved an official total of 21 vehicles.
Horace Butcher, 82, of Hensley, Anthony Peoples, 52, of Hot Springs, and George Adamson, 65, of Hope were named as the deceased.
