A woman from Kearns has died after a car collision with a motorcycle in Idaho.
Idaho State Police said they were investigating the crash, which occurred on Saturday just after 4 p.m. on State Highway 16 at mile marker 110 in Gem County.
According to a press release, a 52-year-old woman from Emmett, Idaho, was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2017 Jeep Renegade when she crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling southbound.
The driver of the motorcycle was a 61-year-old man from Star, Idaho. His passenger was a 39-year-old woman from Kearns, Utah.
The two motorcycle occupants were transported via air to a hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries. Police said both individuals were wearing helmets, and the driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt.
Traffic in both directions of State Highway 16 was blocked for approximately five hours while emergency responders assisted and cleared the scene.
