Center Point man killed in collision with train

Birmingham Fire and Rescue was on the scene of a traffic accident Sunday evening involving a car and a train. It happened near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and 17th Way SW. (BFR)
Birmingham Fire and Rescue was on the scene of a traffic accident Sunday evening involving a car and a train. It happened near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and 17th Way SW.

43-year-old Corey Antonia Jones of Center Point was driving a Ford Fiesta that was hit by an Amtrak train.
Jones died at the scene.

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the crash. It appears Jones drove around the crossing guard arms before being hit by the train.
