Evacuation orders lifted following Albany fire Sunday evening

ALBANY -- Evacuation orders that were issued Sunday afternoon when a vegetation fire broke out on the west side of Albany Hill have been lifted, according to an Albany Fire Department dispatcher.

Albany officials issued an alert to residents in the vicinity of Albany Hill at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, ordering residents of Gateview, Hillside, and Taft Streets to evacuate to Golden Gate Fields.

The Berkeley Fire Department tweeted at 5:32 p.m. that all seven of the department's engines were working the so-called Cleveland incident.
