15 y.o. and 18 y.o. arrested in the shooting deaths of three teens in Aiken County, one more person wanted

#Update | July 1, 2022 (WJBF) – Aiken County Investigators arrested the15-year-old suspect in connection with the deaths of Willie Garrett, Ivan Perry and Cameron Carroll.

Thursday night he turned himself in to investigators. 

He is currently being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice center pending a detention hearing and further criminal proceedings.   

Alvin Artis IV (20) is still at large.

#Update | June 27, 2022 (WJBF) – The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has made one arrest in the shooting deaths of three teenage boys.

18-year-old Xabian U. Bailey of Aiken was arrested and is expected to be charged with 3 counts of Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Police say developments in this investigation led investigators to173 Lloyd Town Road, believed to be where the shooting suspects were hiding out.

Bailey was found in the house and was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators have also identified 2 additional suspects in connection with the deaths Willie Garrett, Ivan Perry and Cameron Carroll.

Investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of 20-year old Alvin Artis IV and a 15-year-old juvenile suspect.

Both are expected to be charged in connection with this case. They should be considered as armed and dangerous.

Aiken County Sheriff, Michael Hunt released the following statement:

This needless loss of life has created a void in families and a community that will have lasting effects. The quick arrest of Bailey is the result of intelligence gathering by investigators of all disciplines which include the newly assigned gang investigators. There is no doubt that this senseless violence is the result of gang members who have no regard for the sanctity of life.

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting deaths of three teenagers.

In a news release, Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables says the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office received a call for shots fired at around 1:22 p.m. in the 200 block of Wadley Drive.

Once on the scene, Deputies found three teens in the front yard of a residence.

All of them had been shot.

17 year old Willie L. Garrett IV and 16 year old Ivan Perry died at the scene.

A third victim, 16 year old Cameron Carroll, died at Augusta University Medical Center.

Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday in Newberry, South Carolina.
