UPDATE: 3-year-old saved after nearly drowning in Greenville

GREENVILLE — Crews responded to a water rescue involving a child in Greenville Sunday afternoon.

Emergency personnel was called to a rescue at the 8000 block of Greenville St. Marys Road around 5:20 p.m., according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

When medics arrived, the child was breathing.

The sheriff’s office wrote that the 3-year-old was taken out of the pool, and CPR was performed by the family.

After being treated by Greenville Township Rescue, the child was flown to Dayton Children’s Hospital via CareFlight.
