IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING, CALL WINSTON SALEM POLICE. TONIGHT, POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR THE PERSON WHO CARJACKED A WOMAN IN A WINSTON-SALEM PARKING GARAGE. POLICE TELL US IT HAPPENED AROUND 10:30 LAST NIGHT, ON NORTH CHURCH STREET AT FOURTH STREET. WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECT THREATENED THE DRIVER WITH A KNIFE AND TOLD HER TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. Winston-Salem police search for vehicle, suspect in carjacking
Winston-Salem police have launched an investigation after a woman's car was stolen at knifepoint Saturday afternoon. According to a news release, officers were called to a parking deck in the 400 block of North Church Street just after 2 p.m. regarding the carjacking. Upon their arrival, the victim explained to police that she had just gotten into her blue 2010 Kia Rio and was attempting to close the driver's side door when an unknown suspect approached her and positioned himself in the doorway, leaving her unable to close it. The suspect then displayed a knife and advised her to exit the vehicle. The victim did so and the suspect then got into her vehicle and drove away. The victim was not injured, police said. Anyone with any information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700.
