RHINELANDER, Wis (WJFW)- On Sunday, the Northwoods Boys and Girls Club hosted a Cornhole Tournament. It took place at Woodpecker bar and grill. The purpose of the event was to raise money for the club and field trips for students during the summer.

"This is event is to help raise funds for general operating budget. We have 174 members this summer, and it costs us about $800 to serve each youth and we only charge about a $100 servicing fee," says Angel Zimmerman, CEO of the Northwoods Boys and Girls Club.

Angel also said that events like this are a fun way to help raise money for the programs, that also gets everybody involved.

"It’s something that anybody can do. I don’t know if there are any kids playing this year, but we had kids last year who played. So really, anybody of any age can play cornhole," said Angel.

While the event is now over, you can still donate to the Boys and Girls Club on their website.
