Alabama football landed a commitment Sunday from 2023 athlete Brayson Hubbard.

Hubbard, who made his announcement on Twitter, played quarterback the past two seasons at Ocean Springs High School in Mississippi after converting from defensive back. He won the state’s 6A Mr. Football award last year.

Alabama offered Hubbard a scholarship earlier this month to play safety, he told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. Hubbard ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash at an Alabama camp, Rivals.com reported.

Hubbard also plays baseball and previously committed to Southern Miss to play that sport.

247 Sports rated Hubbard with three stars and as the No. 9 overall 2023 recruit from Mississippi. He was also recently offered by Mississippi State to play wide receiver.

Hubbard, who was recruited by defensive coordinator Pete Golding, becomes the sixth commitment of the upcoming class for the Tide. The group ranks No. 34 in the country in 247 Sports’ composite team rankings.
