Multi-home Milwaukee fire, firefighter injured

3 homes damaged on the city's Southside

Milwaukee fire crews say three homes are damaged, and a firefighter injured after a fire broke out Sunday morning on the city's southside.The fire taking place near 20th and Grant. The acting battalion chief with the Milwaukee Fire Department says everyone was able to get out of all three homes safely, besides the Firefighter with minor injures.12 News’ Gabriella Garza spoke to Hernan Lomeli, his home the next to catch fire.He said, "I woke up and it was like I was in an inferno because the house next to me was engulfed in flames."Lomeli said they tried to help their neighbor put the flames out but by the time they came back with the water hose the fire totally engulfed the home. "The best thing I could do was get my family out," Lomeli said.Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
