The man tried to intervene in a fight between two other men around 2:40 p.m. when one of them pushed him onto the northbound 6 train tracks at the 125th Street station, authorities said.

He was able to climb back on the platform in time to avoid being hit by a train, but he cut his leg when he fell, according to officials.

Emergency responders took him to Harlem Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested a man whose identity has not yet been released. Charges are pending.
