Hollanders celebrate diversity during largest-ever Pride Festival

HOLLAND — Food trucks, music, dancing, chanting, tabletop gaming, face painting and crafts were all promised for this year's Pride Festival in downtown Holland.

Turnout for the event on Saturday, June 25, was promising, as downtown businesses and community members celebrated the LGBTQ community with performances, flags and artwork.

The annual event is the culmination of Pride Month in Holland, hosted in Centennial Park and organized by Out on the Lakeshore. Sponsors included Gun Lake Casino, MillerKnoll, Grand Valley State University, Holland United Church of Christ and Padnos — among others.

Organizers announced Sunday the celebration was the largest in the event's history.

"We are so grateful for all the support we saw this weekend," OOTL wrote on Facebook. "Thank you, Holland and all who attended Holland Pride. It was an incredible weekend full of community and love, and was the largest Holland PRIDE celebration that we’ve ever had."
