GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The first 12-units of a 52-unit townhome development on East Beltline Avenue is complete, and residents have began moving in.
Evergreen Townhomes, 3141 East Beltline Ave., is being built by Wheeler Development Group, and consists of a mixture of two-and three-bedroom units priced from $1,995 to $2,935 per month. The units come with gas appliances, a fireplace, attached garage, and custom kitchen cabinetry.
“We’ve worked through supply chain interruptions, material shortages, inflation issues and we still maintained our budget and schedule,” said Jason Wheeler, a spokesperson for Wheeler Development Group.

There will be a total of 13 buildings, containing 52-units, at Evergreen once the development is complete. Three of the buildings, containing 12-unts, are complete.
Evergreen Townhomes is the latest multi-family development created by Wheeler Development Group. The Grand Rapids-based firm also create the Michigan Meadows Townhomes development and the Knoll Townhomes of Ada development.
Architectural services were provided by Progressive AE, and construction is being led by Midwest Construction Group.
Wheeler said nearly half of the 52-units are leased out, and that residents will be move into the remaining buildings as they ‘re completed. The entire development is expected to be completed and occupied by residents by the end of the year, Wheeler said.
He said the housing is well suited for a variety of people, from young professionals to empty nesters as well as those who need a place to live before buying a single-family home.
“They are people that are looking for the convenience of the rental setup with the quality and space of a single family home,” he said. “So storage and attached garage, things like that, are more important than, say, a pool or a gym that you would see at an amenity rich apartment complex.”
