PEORIA, Ill. — Tempers have been flaring against Friday’s historic announcement from the U.S. Supreme Court, reversing Roe v Wade and the federal precedent for legally protected abortions across the U.S.
On Saturday, hundreds of demonstrators turned out for a protest event at the Peoria County Courthouse in downtown Peoria.
One sign read, “Abortion is healthcare” while another demanded “safe free legal abortions for all”.
Of course, many conservatives across the country and here at home are in the wake of Friday’s high court ruling, declaring victory after nearly half-a-century of campaigning for pro-life causes.
