A driver disregarded multiple red traffic signals before crashing with another vehicle at an intersection, causing a serious injury, police said.

At 7:37 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on Adams Street at 104th Avenue in Holland Township.

The investigation on scene shows that the at-fault vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Compass driven by a 22-year old Grand Rapids man, was traveling west on Adams Street, and disregarded multiple red traffic signals before to the crash, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The second vehicle, a 2016 Subaru driven by a 35-year-old Dorr woman, was traveling south on 104th Avenue. Upon approaching the intersection the Subaru had a green light, and the driver entered the intersection to make a left hand turn onto Adams. The at-fault Jeep disregarded the red light while traveling westbound at 104th and struck the Subaru, police said.

The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and refused treatment. The driver of the Subaru received serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Her 7-month-old child was uninjured, police said.
