Nestled near a CVS Pharmacy and an Advanced Auto Parts is the newest nail and lash salon in Cantonment.

Lavish Lacquer at 2450 S. U.S. 29 provides high-end nail and lash services, including manicures, pedicures, dip powder, waxing and eyelash extensions. 

"We opened June 10th, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive," Lavish Lacquer owner Ngoc "Nikki" Tran said. "We're still offering a grand opening special and also launched a rewards program for our clients to receive cash back."

Once you walk through the doors of Lavish Lacquer, you will be greeted with a clean and pleasing aesthetic. Newly placed tile, crown molding, leather chairs and shelves of nail polish line the walls of Tran's new salon.

Although it may have taken Tran and her husband three months to get Lavish Lacquer up and running, but the most impressive aspect of the process lies within the renovations itself.  

"It took them nine days to knock down walls and put up the frame," Tran said. "Believe it or not, this used to be a State Farm office, so there were many walls but not enough room."

For Tran, she needed as much floor space as possible. How else would she have been able squeeze in her wide selection of colors?

"I like a lot of colors," Tran said. "I have 600 colors to choose from. It also depends on what people like and their style. I learned how to do everything, because if I know how to do everything, then why not do everything?"

"She gets a lot of business from me, and I get a lot of business from her," Tran said. "After you get your hair done, you can get your lashes and a pedicure with us."

Tran also explains this is another way to take her time with each customer.  

"No one wants to be rushed in and rushed out," Tran said. "If someone walks in or shows up for an appointment, and there's going to be a wait, I let them know. We take our time. It's also very important to focus on locals. They're the ones supporting us."
