A suspect has been arrested in connection with a double fatal shooting in North Seattle that happened when gunfire erupted at a Saturday night quinceañera celebration, police said early Sunday.
The two men, who were 26 and 30 years old, were found at the scene, where both were pronounced dead, interim Seattle Police Department Chief Adrian Diaz said.
Police said officers were called to the 900 block of N. 145th Street around 10:15 p. m. for a report of a shooting at a party.
It was not immediately clear who led to the gunfire or if the victims knew the person who shot them.
Diaz said they were able to arrest the suspect after interviewing several people at the scene. The unidentified suspect was arrested at the North Precinct police headquarters, according to police.
"It's such an unfortunate and tragic event. This was at a quinceañera so they were celebrating a 15-year-old coming into life, " Diaz said. "To have two dead here is such a tragedy."
