The Ole Miss Rebels became the first team to hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the Men’s College World Series since the LSU Tigers did so in 1998.
Ole Miss crushed back-to-back-back jacks in the eighth inning of Saturday night’s 10-3 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in Game 1 of the MCWS Finals (a best-of-three series).
First, TJ McCants — in his first plate appearance of the game — went deep in the always tough lefty-lefty matchup. Nice catch in the bullpen by Ole Miss reliever Josh Mallitz too.
That was followed two pitches later by another lefty-lefty home run. Calvin Harris cranked a 430-foot blast to make it back-to-back homers for the Rebels.
And then Justin Bench made it back-to-back-to-back with this dinger over the left-center field wall:
OLE MISS GOES BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK!

Ole Miss also impressed with the pitching and defense. Jack Dougherty took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, with some help from some stellar Rebels defense.
What a play to keep the no-hitter alive!

The Rebels are searching for their first baseball national title in school history, and they’re just one win away.
