Jonathan Davis Placed Second in USATF Finals

EUGENE, OR – Illini track and field star and graduate student Jonathan Davis earned silver in the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championship in the 1500m with a time of 3:46.01 on Saturday. Davis qualified for the finals with a time of 3:39.02 in Thursday's qualifying round. The Oakwood, Illinois native adds a noteworthy accomplishment to his long list of accolades. 

Davis is one of five athletes representing The University of Illinois this week at the USA/U20 USA's Outdoor Championships. Nicholas Dovalovsky (1500m), Tacoria Humphrey (high jump), Logan Neely (400m hurdles), and Devontae Ford (400m hurdles) are all in the U20 USA's.

Ford placed fourth in the finals Saturday with a time of 51.91. He qualified Friday with a time of 52.13, third place in his heat. Dovalovsky finished fourth as well with a time of 3:52.20 in the 1500m.

Humphrey continued the trend and finished fourth in the high jump clearing 1.81m (5' 11 1/4") on her third and final attempt. Neely posted a time of 1:02.07 on Friday, narrowly missing qualifying.
