A Wake County woman is using a new book she has written to raise awareness for Alzheimer's.

A Wake County woman is bringing awareness to Alzheimer's month through a book.

Brittany Gilbert wrote a book called "Rudy and Me".

It tells her story as a little girl who is having trouble adjusting to her grandmother being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Gilbert has cerebral palsy and says she wants others to be encourage despite life's challenges.

"I hope my book reaches those who need encouragement it is also for those who want a simple understanding of Alzheimer's disease," said Gilbert.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Gilbert is hoping this book will spread the word and discuss the impact of Alzheimer’s while giving people hope.
