JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A “big glow” attracted multiple fire departments across Craighead County over the weekend.

Valley View, Bono, and Jonesboro fire crews were called to the scene of a house fire on the evening of Friday, June 25, on Strawfloor Road in Jonesboro.

According to firefighters on the scene, they got a call from someone who could see a “big glow”, but they didn’t know where the fire was.

They drove around the area until finding the fire at the end of a gated road on the street.

They then cut the lock and got to the fire as fast as possible, but the house was too far gone, and the roof was caved in, according to the firefighters

The home was still under construction, so supplies to get the fire out were limited

Firefighters on the scene said they had water issues due to a lack of fire hydrants but were able to pump in water from a nearby subdivision.

Nobody was in the house at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

As of Wednesday, June 29, Jonesboro Assistant Fire Chief Marty Hamrick said they are still investigating the fire, and no cause has been identified,
