A free solo climber who got stuck on the Second Flatiron near Boulder was rescued Saturday afternoon.
At 12:56 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office got a report of the stranded climber, according to a news release from the office.
A City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks ranger and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group members arrived about 20 minutes after the call was received and entered the field.
The climber, a 28-year-old man from Arvada who was becoming fatigued, was located about 160 feet up the Second Flatiron. Rescuers secured the man and assisted him down the rock face. The rescue took about 90 minutes.
Assisting agencies included the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
