Cadillac Revival Center Church Destroyed in Fire, Congregation Faith Still Strong

An early morning fire at Revival Center Church in Cadillac left the building a total loss.

The call came in about a fire at the church around 4:00 Saturday morning.

“I’ve been here before this building was here,” said Pastor Will Markham, who has been the lead pastor at the church for 31 years. “We bought this property, and it’s been a blessing to be up here.”

Pastor Markham said it’s not clear yet how the fire started, though investigators told him it was a possible electrical fire.

“The thing I keep remembering is simply this though: the church is alive and well, the building not so much,” Pastor Markham said. “The building is an inanimate thing, but does it carry lots of memories? Yes it does. We’ve had a lot of great times here in this building, and so it carries lots of memories.”

Despite the tragedy, Revival Center Church will still continue their Sunday services, starting June 26 at 10 am on the hill on the church property.

Several volunteers from the congregation, as well as other local churches, came out to help set up a platform, tent, and chairs for the service.

They will continue to have 10 am service on the hill for the foreseeable future, Pastor Markham said.

“Community is one of the greatest things that we have,” he said. “When the church gathers together as a community, they are as one as they can possibly be in Jesus.”

Pastor Markham said he’s so grateful for the community’s support during this difficult time.

“Even when there are so many other folks that aren’t a part of our congregation that are helping, they’re part of our community,” he said.

Revival Center Church will also still hold their food pantry in the parking lot of the church on Wednesday June 29 from 9-11 am.
