Feed Semi Trailer Damaged By Fire Early Saturday Morning

Sheldon, Iowa — A semi trailer hauling feed was damaged in a fire early Saturday morning.

The Sheldon Fire Department was called out to the corner of 330th Street and Nettle Avenue shorty before 5:30 Saturday morning, to the report of a feed truck on fire.

According to Sheldon Fire Chief Denny Kruger, the right rear tires of the semi’s trailer were on fire. He says the fire burned through one side of the trailer’s wall before it could be extinguished. While the trailer was damaged, Kruger said the feed contained inside was not reached by the flames, because the trailer’s compartments that were damaged contained no feed.

Firefighters were on scene for about half an hour, according to Chief Kruger.
