Dothan honors beloved community member with mural

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The mural city keeps getting prettier, as a new mural was revealed in Downtown Dothan this afternoon.

A world-renowned artist Aija painted a mural in honor of Darlene Clark, who passed away in October of last year on the side of Cut Creations Barbershop.

Clark was a pillar of love and light in the Dothan community working with young people through music and art.

She had a performing arts studio in Dothan, held musical workshops, and was a minister of music for several Wiregrass churches and director at multiple schools.

Cree Davis, her daughter, said seeing the mural and the support is breathtaking.

“It’s such a blessing to see everyone come out and show their love for my mother and the love for the city,” Cree Davis said. “I’m so honored and blessed I feel the love in the air despite the rain someone told me it’s only raining because my mom is happy crying tears,” She said.

Davis can’t thank the city, the artist Aija, and Cut Creations Owner Keith enough for their love and support.
