GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade is sparking protests, including in Green Bay.

Roughly 50 people gathered at Leicht Memorial Park, and then marched to the Brown County Courthouse Saturday afternoon.

The protesters say abortion is a human right, and that bodily autonomy is protected in the U.S. Constitution.

The high court's decision leaves abortion rights up to the states.

In Wisconsin, a law dating back to 1849 bans nearly all abortions.

But rally spokesperson Natalie Hoffman says the law needs to change.

"It's ancient," Hoffman said. "It is outdated. And, you know, if we're not changing, we're not progressing. We're staying stagnant. And ideally, I would like to see that ban repealed. But, I am not confident in our State Legislature."

Saturday's protest was peaceful.
