In the midst of an unofficial visit to Texas A&M, Dripping Springs (Texas) quarterback and Baylor commit Austin Novosad has received an offer from the Aggies.

Jimbo Fisher and Co. are the latest program to officially enter the mix with the four-star passer, who is also an A&M legacy. After receiving an offer from Ohio State and visiting the Buckeyes two weekends ago, Novosad is also drawing interest from Georgia.

On Thursday, On3’s Sam Spiegelman learned that Novosad quietly took a visit to Georgia on Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost out Thursday morning on Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning when he committed to Texas, and haven’t been seriously tied to any other passers in this class to this point.

The Aggies were in the final group for four-star Pittsburg (Calif.) passer Jaden Rashada and five-star Dante Moore. But they’re currently trending toward Miami and Oregon, respectively.

Texas A&M signed five-star Connor Weigman in the 2022 class, as well as adding LSU transfer Max Johnson, but would like to add another arm in the room heading into next season.

Austin Novosad Scouting Summary

“Stat-stuffing pure pocket passer with clean mechanics and the ability to throw with timing and touch. Plays in an air-it-out system at the high school level that puts up tons of points. Completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 3,399 yards and 40 touchdowns against 9 interceptions at 10.39 yards per attempt as a junior. Has a natural, tight throwing motion and spins the ball well. Most comfortable when sitting back and delivering from the pocket. Shows nuance as a passer with the ability to deliver well-located throws to all levels.

… Has room to add mass to his 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame. Tests as a solid athlete, running a 4.87 second 40-yard dash and jumping 34 inches in the vertical. Can do a better job of translating that athleticism to the field. Has not been much of a playmaker outside of the pocket to this point. Rushed for -27 yards as a junior, the highest-rated 2023 quarterback with a negative rushing total.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
