4-year-old girl beaten to death in Chatham
Police were reportedly called to Comer Children's Hospital around 11:00 p.m. last night after a 4-year-old girl arrived to the hospital in critical condition. She later died at approximately 11:36 p.m.
Update 3: Sunday, June 26, 2022 @ 2:30 p.m. - Detectives are questioning a "person of interest" in the case.

CHICAGO - A 4-year-old girl's death has been ruled a homicide due to child abuse after she was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with trauma all over her body late Friday night, authorities said.
Police were called to Comer Children's Hospital around 11:00 p.m. last night after a 4-year-old girl arrived to the hospital in critical condition. She later died at approximately 11:36 p.m.
Her initial cause of death was reported as cardiac arrest but a call for Evidence Technicians and a Detective revealed that the little girl had trauma all over her body.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed her death was a homicide due to child abuse.
The girl lived on the 7900 block of S. St. Lawrence Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood on the city's south side.
Police provided no additional details other than to say that Area Detectives are investigating.
