Vehicle collides with Amtrak train in DeLand
A vehicle collided with an Amtrak train in Volusia County on Saturday. The train had departed from New York Friday and the incident happened in DeLand, according to Amtrak. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle was driving on Alexander Drive leading up to the crash.After the vehicle approached the CSX railroad crossing, the train hit the front of the vehicle as it began to cross the tracks. According to deputies, no one on the Amtrak train was injured and the vehicle's driver had non-life-threatening injuries when transported to the hospital. Amtrak says after a few hours following the crash, the train was able to continue moving.
