Officials did not say whether they believe the shootings to be related to each other.

The first shooting took place just before 1:30 a.m. on Bell Avenue near North 4th Street, according to authorities.

When police responded to reports of the shooting, they found blood but no victim.

Yeshawn Staggers, 27, later arrived by his own means to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A little over two hours later a 26-year-old and a 19-year-old were shot about a 3-minute drive away at the intersection of 5th Avenue and East 11th Street, police said.

Both men went to St. Joseph’s for treatment and are expected to survive.
