Drivers using Illinois 57 over Curtis Creek just south of RJ Peters Drive in Quincy need to prepare for slowdowns as crews work on the bridge.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced workers will be doing some painting on the bridge starting on Monday, June 27.
Lane reductions will be necessary for this project. Temporary barriers, cones and flaggers will be present for traffic control. This project will help preserve the bridge and create a protective coat on the structural steel.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
