Police Seek Tips: Shoplifting Suspect and Bystander Struck by Getaway Car in Downtown Greenwich on Saturday

Greenwich Police seek the public’s assistance following an incident Saturday afternoon in downtown

According to Greenwich Police Captain Mark Zuccerella, the pictured subject entered a business on Mason Street and attempted to steal several purses. She was interrupted by several bystanders and ran from the store.

Zuccerella said the suspect, and another bystander, were then struck by a dark colored SUV operated by a black male.  This SUV was there to pick up the pictured suspect.

The driver of the SUV displayed a handgun before both subjects fled in the SUV.  It is unknown at this time if the suspect was injured, but the bystander suffered non-life threatening injuries.
