The Ottumwa pride block party came back for its second year in Central Park. Visitors could show their support and take part in the pride celebration.

Ottumwa Pride Board member, Kristen Payne, told KTVO the support the event received in 2021 allowed them to host a bigger celebration this year.
We had enormous support last year, over 300 people showed up. That support allowed us to receive more funding," said Payne.
The block party was created to celebrate and bring attention to the LGBTQ+ community in Ottumwa.
We have tripled in size in just one year. That is just a show of the support we have here in Ottumwa and the surrounding areas," said Payne.
The event had several vendors, including an array of activities everyone could take part of.
Karaoke, dance parties, and a drag show were just a few of the entertainment options offered.
