Rhinelander, WIS (WJFW) Earlier today, Nicolet college hosted the 6th annual Northwoods Pride Festival. Organizers say it is an uplifting event meant to build trusting relationships and space for the LGBT+ community. Rainbow Hodags President Nicole Manta remarked that this year's turnout looked to be their best yet.

"I’m so happy we’re back on campus again, this is our first time back since Covid. Like this year we have a food truck, we have gelato, and so we have so much fun stuff," said Nicole.

The Rainbow Hodags who are the LGBT support group at Nicolet college hosted the event. Their mission is to reach out to community members to show support for the LGBT community.

"We’re trying to reach to the LGBT people, so that they know that they’re in a safe environment and we just want to show our support for them," said Nicole.

All donations made during the event will help fund the festival itself, as well as scholarships for LGBT+ students who attend Nicolet. If you missed it, donations can still be made through Nicolet’s website.
