This week, Medford Police Department trained on active shooter response.
"Every year our SWAT team puts a significant amount of effort into creating the most realistic training environment based on current information and tactics," MPD stated. "The training is attended by detectives and officers from various divisions, including Patrol, School Resource, Traffic and Livability Team."
MPD also trained supervisors in scene management and overall coordination with community partners from the Medford Fire Department and Medford School District 549C.
"What matters most is how fast responding officers can end the threat and we train with that mindset," MPD notes. "Trainings like this make a significant difference when responding to critical incidents."
