Curzan leaves World Championships with 2 gold, 3 bronze medals after women's 4x100

Cary's Claire Curzan is bringing home 5 medals from the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest.

Curzan's performance in the women's 4x100m medley earned her the 2nd gold medal for the meet and her 5th medal overall.

Curzan previously brought home gold in Tuesday's mixed 4x100 relay.

She also placed Bronze in the 100-meter backstroke on Tuesday, the 4x100 freestyle relay on last Saturday and Friday's 4x100m freestyle relay.

The Olympian and Cary native was named the 2022 Female Athlete of the Year at HighSchoolOT Honors after graduating from Cardinal Gibbons.

Curzan has committed to competing for Stanford University starting this fall.
