The Springlake Volunteer Fire Department’s annual 4th of July event this year will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022.

This will be the 34th year for that community’s Independence Day even.

This year, the Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting the annual parade, a hamburger supper, cake auction, and the spectacular fireworks at dark.

The parade will begin lining up at 5 p.m. on the south end of Springlake on Hwy 385 and will proceed north to the intersection and turn west on HWY 70, ending at the park on the west end of town. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three floats, and plaques will be awarded to the top car and tractor. Other ribbons will be given as well,

The VFD invites everyone to bring your cars, bikes, tractors, four-wheelers, etc., and join the parade.

They also invite all county and area fire departments and EMS services to bring their trucks and join the parade.

Following the parade, everyone will gather in the City Park on the west side of the city, off Hwy 70, for the awards presentations, followed by the Cake Auction, which always is a great fun time.

Hamburgers will be served, once the auction is concluded. The cost of a meal is $10 each, with kids under 6 free. Tickets will be sold at the north entrance side of the park.

All proceeds from the fund raisers go towards the purchase of firefighter (PPE) Personal Protection Equipment and truck repairs and maintenance.

At dark, members of Springlake’s Volunteer Fire Department will begin setting off the fireworks from the area west of the park. The public always enjoys the spectacular firework displays.
