Pro-choice advocates on Friday gathered outside the federal courthouse in Springfield after the ruling on Roe v. Wade.
Planned Parenthood, Resistor Sisterhood and many other organizations were protesting in front of the courthouse today in hopes that the Supreme Court will reconsider their decision.
People, cars and chanting were heard all throughout downtown Springfield. Planned Parenthood and many other organizations said they will not give up fighting.
"Outraged and angry. I'm upset but because of all the people who are turning out here in Springfield, as well as at over 400 events across the country, I do have hope we are not going anywhere. We are going to stay in this fight and we are going to stand up for every single persons right," said Bridgette Lechy, vice president of Planned Parenthood.
Even though abortion access in Illinois will not be impacted by the Supreme Court ruling, Lechy said it still affects everyone no matter what state they live in.
