An arrest was made in connection to a hit and run crash involving a Derry police officer in May.Officer Melissa Houde was struck by a passing car while she was conducting a traffic stop on South Main Street on May 28. The car hit her cruiser, then hit the officer who was standing on the side of the road. The vehicle then fled the scene. Officer Houde is still recovering from a significant arm injury. Derry Police responded to the crash scene and recovered evidence left behind by the vehicle that indicated it was likely a white 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander.Investigators used that evidence to locate Nicolle Medina, 41, of Bedford, New Hampshire, who drives that make and model vehicle. Further investigation led to a search warrant for the vehicle, and later, an arrest warrant for Medina. She is charged with two Class B felonies.Medina was arrested at her home and she will appear before the Rockingham Superior Court to answer to the charges.
